Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA)

This is a combined specialist clinical examination and objective measurement of functional capabilities usually undertaken due to workplace absence or an ‘at work’ employee reporting problems carrying out their job role, or a specific work task. Following clinical assessment, detailed objective computerised testing of an individual's functional capabilities is undertaken that can be compared against physical jobs demands and this leads to a Report which provides specific and objective conclusions regarding work capabilities. If appropriate, treatment recommendations are also outlined along with any graded return to work plan.

Worksite Jobs Demands Analysis

This is a detailed assessment of all aspects of a job role. It is carried out on site and involves observing, measuring and documenting all job demands and their frequency, eg, postural demands, dexterity, forces generated during physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, gripping etc. The assessment produces a comprehensive job demands analysis Report which also includes advice and recommendations with regard to identified areas of risk to the business. Recommended actions to minimise risk, resolve problem areas and optimise processes from an ergonomic perspective are detailed in the Report. The Report has the added advantage of forming an FCA template for anyone subsequently sent for assessment, thus allowing direct comparison between actual job demands and the objectively measured capabilities during testing.

Duration of Assessment 2-8 hours.
